Composting with UNH Master Gardener Lisa Perks In-Person

If you aren’t already composting, come find out why you should be and how easy it is to get started. If you’re already composting, come learn some new tips and tricks. This presentation is geared for both beginners and experienced composters alike. Attendees will learn what compost is and why composting is important; about the various organisms that make compost happen, what materials are required for a successful compost, the many different methods for constructing a compost pile and which is best for their individual situation, and finally, how to resolve any issues that might arise. Note: The presentation does not cover vermicomposting (worm composting).

Lisa Perks is a Professor of Communication and Media at Merrimack College. She completed UNH's Master Gardener course in fall of 2023. Lisa has a passion for sustainable gardening, including composting and using upcycled materials in the garden. She lives in Windham where she grows flowers, herbs, vegetables, and an assortment of fruit.
