What is Radon? with Tom Jarvela

What is Radon? with Tom Jarvela Online

Exposure to radon causes the death of twenty thousand people per year in the United States. Nationally, it is estimated that 1 of every 15 homes has elevated levels of radon. In New Hampshire, it is estimated that 3 in 10 homes have elevated radon. Radon is a radioactive, naturally occurring, colorless, and odorless gas. The only way to know if the air you and your family are breathing in your home is safe is to test for radon.

Join this Zoom talk to learn more about the importance of testing for radon in your home.

Tom Jarvela is a New Hampshire native who currently lives in Stratham with his wife and two young children. In 2021, his family discovered that their home in Stratham had very elevated levels of radon. Having remediated their own radon issues he founded radonlibrary.com, an organization dedicated to working collaboratively with libraries to promote radon awareness in the granite state.
